Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba condemned the attacks on Kyiv. He described it as a “heinous act of barbarism.”
Russia bombarded Kyiv in the most aggressive onslaught on the capital since Moscow's soldiers departed weeks ago.
“By this heinous act of barbarism Russia demonstrates once again its attitude towards Ukraine, Europe, and the world,” Kuleba tweeted.
Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said it was “an attack on the security of the Secretary-General and world security”.
At least ten people were injured, according to Ukrainian officials, when Russia fired missiles at the city.
The shelling occurred an hour after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at a press conference.
