FDA investigates child’s death on consuming Abbott baby formula

• The agency said it will provide an update as it learns more

The Food and Drug Administration said it is investigating another case of a child’s death after allegedly consuming Abbott Laboratories’ (NYSE: ABT) baby formula.

The FDA said it has initiated an investigation, given that the complaint referenced that the infant had consumed an Abbott product.

“However, the investigation of this most recent consumer complaint is in its preliminary stages and the agency will provide an update as it learns more,” said the agency.
