Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) said it is testing a new feature called “Notes” that would allow users to write and publish long-form content on the social media platform.

The feature is being tested among a small group of writers in the United States, Canada, Ghana, and the United Kingdom for publishing long-form content, while Notes can be read on and off Twitter by people in most countries.
Twitter also said newsletter firm Revue, which the micro-blogging platform bought last year, would now be part of Twitter Write along with the “Notes” feature.
The company currently has a 280-character limit on tweets, a feature it began testing nearly five years ago. Earlier, users could only use 140-characters for a tweet.
Twitter did not give more details on its wider roll-out.
In April, Twitter announced that in the coming months, the social media company will begin testing a new edit feature, which it called “the most requested feature for many years.”
Twitter is in the middle of a $44 billion buyout by Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk, the world’s richest person.
