- Ukrainian leader urged senators to back the decision on providing Kyiv with modern air defense systems
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy met with two US Senators -Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Democrat Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut- in Kyiv, according to a statement from his office.
"Bicameral and bipartisan support is really important for Ukraine. We feel it, we feel this unity," Zelenskyy thanked senators for visiting the country.
Separately, the President stressed the significance of ensuring the appropriate security circumstances to allow the educational process to take place in educational institutions.
“The number one task for us today is for women with children to be able to return to Ukraine by September 1, so that children can go to school so that students do not leave and can go to universities,” he said.
Zelenskyy urged senators to back the decision on providing Ukraine with modern air defense systems.
"We appeal to you so that the Congress supports Ukraine in the matter of supplying modern air defense systems,” said the Head of State. “We must ensure such a level of sky security that our people are not afraid to live in Ukraine."
