Ukraine's effort to regain Kherson gathering momentum: UK
- Ukraine attacked Antonivsky bridge in Kherson city and the bridge is very certainly no longer operational
The UK ministry of defense in its intelligence report said Ukraine’s counter-offensive in Kherson is gathering momentum.
“Ukraine has used its new long-range artillery to damage at least three of the bridges across the Dnipro River which Russia relies upon to supply the areas under its control,” the ministry said.
The 1000-meter-long Antonivsky bridge in Kherson city was destroyed last week. Ukraine attacked it again on July 27, 2022, and the bridge is very certainly no longer operational.
“Russia’s 49th Army is stationed on the west bank of the Dnipro River and now looks highly vulnerable,” the MoD said in a tweet.
Kherson city, Russia's most strategically important population center “is now virtually cut off from the other occupied territories.” its loss would seriously undercut Russia's efforts to portray the invasion as a triumph, the ministry added.
